January 2012
Happy New Year! Deaf Boomers is looking forward to making strong progress in 2012. Deaf Boomers, along with their senior care partner, The Kemper Company, is very excited at the outcome of the recent ULI Study at Gallaudet University. Herb Sutcliffe, Deaf Boomers VP, participated in the study to voice the strong demand for Deaf Senior Housing. The proposed Deaf Senior Community, Gally Circle, is in line with ULI’s findings and recommendations for Capital City Market, which brings us one step closer to initiating development. We remain in close communication with Gallaudet as they move through this process, and will convey updates as they become available.

| Joined by his brothers, Glen and Herb, Bert Sutcliffe founded the organization, Deaf Boomers, to harness the tremendous demand for Deaf senior housing. As children of Deaf parents, they have witnessed the frustration over previous failed attempts to build a Deaf retirement community in the Washington DC – Baltimore metro area.
